All price lists from Valspar, one of the largest coating procuers, are formatted fully automatically from a single Excel document. For five of the many different Valspar brands, a ready-to-use, customer-specific PDF price list is created within 5 minutes.

Valspar used to create the price lists manually, but this can now be done fully automatically. When a Valspar employee needs a price list for a specific customer, this can be generated a-la-minute.

This is how it works

Valspar manages all necessary price lsit information, such as the product, customer and price information, in one large Excel document. The Excel document is (through a Guidance converter) read into the Catalogger publication software, which turns this into fully formatted pages.

Generating price lists in 3 short steps

The only thing Valspar has to do is get the Excel file ready, indicate in the converter what information needs to be in the price list, and start the generation.

Within 5 minutes, the price list is finished and is directly placed as a PDF in a shared folder that all colleagues can access in order to distribute the price lists immediately. Valspar can queue up multiple tasks at once, which are then generated back to back via Catalogger.

Valspar has customer-specific prices in different currencies and customer-specific ranges for all customers, which are all maintained in the Excel document. The NAW information of the customers is also present in the file.

This way, a personalized price list can be created for each customer.

For each brand, there is also a cover sheet with customer data and a page with terms of delivery, which are added when generating the PDF.
